The 7AB/R is our standard, 7-inch silver field reflector, having an 80º beam spread. The reflector fits around the flashtube and modeling lamp on the front faceplate of all standard Paul C. Buff™ flash units. The 7AB/R can be used alone for a bright, directed throw, and used together with many of our light modifying accessories as well. Our 7-inch honeycomb grids can be used to tighten the beam spread, fitting into the reflector’s recessed outer lip. The LiteMod™ Barndoors may be used with the reflector directly as well, fitting around the outer lip to direct the throw of light. The reflector additionally has an umbrella hole for use with various brands of umbrellas and brolly boxes. The 7AB/R measures 3.75 inches deep and 7 inches in diameter.

Note: It is not necessary to purchase this reflector when purchasing a new AlienBees™ (B400, B800 and B1600) flash unit, a White Lightning™ X-Series flash unit or a Zeus™ Z2500SH or Z2500BTH flash head. This reflector is already included with these units.

Flash Units: The 7AB/R fits around the flashtube and modeling lamp on the front faceplate of all standard Paul C. Buff™ flash units, including the AlienBees™ (B400, B800 and B1600) flash units, White Lightning™ X-Series flash units, Zeus™ Z2500SH or Z2500BTH flash heads and Einstein™ E640 flash unit. It is not compatible with the AlienBees™ ABR800 Ringflash unit or the ZRM1 Zeus™ Ringmaster head. Note: It is not necessary to purchase this reflector when purchasing a new AlienBees™ (B400, B800 and B1600) flash unit, a White Lightning™ X-Series flash unit or a Zeus™ Z2500SH or Z2500BTH flash head. Honeycomb Grids: The 7-inch honeycomb grids (available in 10º, 20º, 30º and 40º beam spreads) may be used with the 7AB/R, snapping inside the reflector’s recessed outer lip.

LiteMod™ Barndoors: The LMBD4 LiteMod™ Barndoors can be used with the reflector, fitting over its outer lip.

Gels and Filters: Our 8-inch x 10-inch color gels and light modifying filters (CF6, CF20, WF6, UV6, DF6 and ND6) can be used with the reflector, clipped to the reflector using our small nylon clips, bulldog clips, or other similar clips. Note: The GELH Gel Holders can NOT be used with the 7AB/R - these holders require the UMF LiteMod™ Unit Mainframe for use.

Umbrellas and Brolly Boxes: Our U48TWB and U48SW umbrellas may be used with the 7AB/R and umbrellas and brolly boxes from various other manufacturers (including all retired Paul C. Buff™ umbrellas and brolly boxes) may be used with the reflector as it has a wide umbrella hole. The reflector hole lines up with the corresponding umbrella hole on the flash unit housing and accepts umbrella or brolly poles measuring up to 3/8-inch in diameter.
